All tenders released on or after 01 January 2024 by sub central contracting authorities (Education Sector) will be subject to the new Public Contracts Regulations 2015 'PCR2015' thresholds.

Type of Contract

New threshold (inclusive of VAT)

Goods and Services

£214,904

£213,477*

Works

£5,372,609

£5,336,937*

Light Touch

£633,540

£633,540*

*01.01.2022-31.12.2023 thresholds

There is no change to Light Touch thresholds. There is an increase of 0.66% for both Goods and Services and Works contracts. With CPI/RPI increasing 6.7%/8.9% respectively in the last 12 months these new thresholds effectively operate as a reduction in expenditure before PCR applies. What does this mean? Contracting authorities are going to have to work smarter than ever to achieve Value for Money!
